How Do Commissions Work?
Price Lists & Price Ranges
Depending upon what it is that you want, I have either a List for Specific things you can choose from, which determines the final price, or I work within a Price Range.What both of these options means is that YOU get the best option FOR YOU, for whatever YOU PERSONALLY ARE WILLING TO INVEST/PAY.But, also I GET to protect myself from people whom use & abuse the hiring process to to play power games on ME.
Commissions In A Price Range
You get what you pay for:- For Cartoons & Simple Line Sketches (also Caricatures) I tend to operate within a Price Range scale.The reason is because many fans don't have a lot of money, but they still would like a drawing that I made for them. It's about the personal experience, and not about having the most extravagant labor intensive piece of art.- Think of it this way:
If you ONLY have about $5, then I just whip up a $5 worth of sketch, ON PAPER, I even scan it for you. (Then I send it to you, but you need to pay Shipping... IF YOU WANT ME TO SEND IT TO YOU.)
For $5, most people are pretty much happy with whatever.- But, lets say someone is willing to pay $45 (No, I'm not judging.) Then, I'll do about $45 quality worth of a sketch.- When it comes to sketching YOU DON'T really get any color.
- COLOR takes more effort, labor, and skill than line drawings.- But, if you are ONLY willing to pay me $5, then you ONLY GET $5 Quality . NOT $5,000 Quality.- If you want to negotiate, or haggle, that's fine, but if you are overly picky, and difficult to please, or like to use the idea of hiring an artist, just to push someone around, to make you feel like you have power over someone, I suggest you DON'T hire me.- COLOR:There's different types of Color.- Hand Colored (many kinds of this: Color Pencil, Marker, Mixed Media)

U wanna kill me????ABOUT RAINBOW COLORED ART MADE FROM SCRATCH:I DO NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING RAINBOW EVER AGAIN!IT IS SO MUCH EXTRA WORK, LABOR, ENERGY, MENTAL FOCUS & SKILLS, and it is SO EXHAUSTING!BUT if YOU MUST HAVE SOMETHING RAINBOW COLORED, THEN IT WILL COST YOU $3K !- The more fully rendered something is, the more I must work on, it and thusly the higher the price.- The longer it takes to work on somethings you start to get in the hundreds & thousands of Dollars range.- I'm actually also well known for drawing Dynamic Poses, but for very dynamic work, the price goes up.
- Also, the more subjects in the piece also makes the cost go up.- I suggest you stick to a more simpler pose to keep the price affordable.- It goes on a case by case basis.

Price List Commissions
- I tend to use Price Lists for REALISM ART and more FULLY RENDERED work, especially larger drawings done in Pastel & Charcoals.- For this type of artwork, it needs to be done LARGER to see the details.- Charcoals & Pastels have more blunt points & edges, so it hinders the ability to do fine details. That's why larger is better.- Color Pencils & Graphite Pastels can get finer Details, as well as Graphic Markers, and Mixed Media blends everything.- This type of artwork tends to start around the $160-$280 range and can often go up to $500-$2,000 because of how much details, shading, highlights, and colors are used in the labor creation of the work.- Don't get intimidated by the PRICES, that's why you can contact me, let me know your needs, and price range.Payments can be broken up into installments. I'm MORE than confident we can come to a satisfactory arrangement.- A Portrait of a Human Face, or a Pet, in BLACK & WHITE Charcoal starts around $160, and each face costs about that. It depends on how detailed the subject is.- The SAME PIECE done in COLOR PASTELS & CHARCOALS gets higher. That starts around $680 PER FACE (or pet)
- I can also send it to you (shipping costs extra)- FRAME Costs Extra (I can frame it for you, or You can frame it yourself. It's a Standard Size, so you could easily find a pre-made frame.)- YES I can make corrections & Adjustments.
If you like, we can do it on a Video Call.No, that doesn't cost extra.- I tend to create Price Lists that work out the price, like an estimate so people can figure it out.
Payments
- Payments for Prices $50 and under MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE I start the work.( If I have made an arrangement to do a piece of SIMPLE BASIC ART for you at $50 or under, YOU DO NOT GET TO CHANGE THE CIRCUMSTANCES, keep changing your mind, keep moving the goalpost, or manipulate me with tears, and even if I granted something for you DOES NOT ENTITLE YOU TO KEEP CHANGING IT, AND EXPECTING MORE, otherwise I WILL END THE COMMISSION. Picky people can hire other people and waste their time, NOT MINE. )- Payments OVER $50 MUST pay a DEPOSIT PAYMENT of at LEAST HALF of the Price. (Or, I could work out 3rds, or 1/4s depending on how high the price is.)- If I have NOT received a Payment yet, I WILL NOT START THE WORK until I get it.- Upon finishing the work, YOU MUST PAY THE REST, and any extra costs: frame, tax, shipping, etc.- Digital Work has no extra shipping costs.- Updates, scan, and Progress photos DO NOT COST EXTRA.- You get to keep ALL OF THE Thumbnail work, rough drafts, or Pre-Production sketches, roughs.
